| This is a collection of archive photos of (mainly) New Barnet, Oakleigh Park and New Southgate on the ECML north of London. For the most part they will attempt to show the infrastructure, odd corners – the ‘feel & atmosphere’ of the places as well as some of the trains that ran through them.
The photos are drawn from a number of sources, including the collections of the Barnet Model Railway Club (BMRC), the Hendon & District Archaeological Society (HADAS) and Barnet Museum. Some of the photographs will vary in quality especially some of the New Barnet prints, some of which have been scanned from a set of rather battered contact-prints as some of the negs & photos have lost (so far). This will be an ongoing gallery as I find more photos to add, researching & dating them more clearly. Some of the dates are as yet a bit of a guess. My thanks to my colleagues Mike Foreman (MF) and Geoff Burton (GB) at the BMRC for access too and information on their photographic collections.
